• Seed Accounting Competition

    Seed Accounting Competition is a unique opportunity for students to test their knowledge and abilities to engage in a challenging manner.

     

    There are 3 levels of the competition including Entry Level, Level 1 and Level 2.

    Seed Trainees are exempted from Entry Level

     

    Entry Level is to test the candidates’ ability to understand basic areas of a bookkeeper.

     

    If successful, candidates then, will be informed and progressed to the Level 1 of the competition. In this level, candidates will be tested on their abilities and practical knowledge to carry out basic entry level accounting tasks within a given time frame.

     

    If successful, candidates then, will be informed and progressed to the Level 2 of the competition, where their ability to work under pressure on a tight timeline will be tested. Gathering information and applying practical knowledge will be the key to be successful over other candidates.

     

    The Competition is open to everyone with Accounting/Commerce background and is free to join the competition. All trainees must read the Competition Guidelines, complete the Registration Form, and follow all procedures indicated by Seed Training Group.

  • Competition Process

    Step 1: Register for The Competition

    To complete the registration process, participants are required to read the Terms and Conditions and fill the Registration Form within the registration period.

     

    * Registration closes on the 11th December 2017 for the current round. New competition round will be updated every month.

    Step 2: Confirm Your Availability to Attend The Entry Level Competition

    An email will be sent to participants within 1 business day (after submission of the registration form), to confirm the participant's eligibility and further information.

     

    * Participants must reply to the email to confirm availability to be able to enter the competition. Failure to comply will result in a void entrance.

    Step 3: Attend Entry Level Competition

    Participants must attend the competition on time at the Seed Training Group. It is recommended that participants arrive 10 to 15 minutes early.

     

    * Participants who arrive late more than 5 minutes will not be able to proceed the competition for the round.

    Step 4: Results of Entry Level

    Results will be emailed to all participants after 2 business days from the completion of Entry Level. Successful participants will be informed on the next steps of the competition.

    Step 5: Confirm Your Availability to Attend Level 1 Competition.

    Participants are required to reply the email to confirm their availability to sit for level 1 of the competition.

    Step 6: Attend Level 1 Competition

    Participants must attend the competition on time at the Seed Training Group. It is recommended that participants arrive 10 to 15 minutes early.

    Step 7: Results of Level 1

    Results will be emailed to all participants after 2 business days from the completion of Level 1. Successful participants will be informed on the next steps of the competition.

    Step 8: Confirm Your Availability to Attend Level 2 Competition

    Participants are required to reply the email to confirm their availability to sit for level 2 of the competition.

     

    Step 6: Attend Level 2 Competition

    Participants must be able to attend the level 2 competition on time at Seed Training Group. It is recommended that participants arrive 10 to 15 minutes early.

     

    * Participants who arrive late more than 5 minutes will not be able to proceed the competition for the round.

    Step 7: Results of Level 2 and the Competition Winner

    Results will be emailed to all individual participants after 5 business days from the completion of Level 2. The winner will be contacted by Seed Training Group directly.

    Step 8: Prize Redemption

    Seed Training Group will assist the winner of each level to redeem the prizes.

  • Competition Levels

    Time limit: 30 minutes

    Date & Time:

    Thursday 1st March 2018, 4:30 pm – 5 pm

    or

    Tuesday 6th March 2018, 4:30 pm - 5pm

    Entry Level is to test the candidates’ ability to navigate the MYOB system which is a fundamental task of a bookkeeper.

     

    Completing this level enables you to understand the basic areas a bookkeeper should focus on.

    Time limit: 60 minutes

    Date & Time: Thursday, 8th March 2018, 5pm – 6 pm

    Level 1 tests the participants´ ability to carry out bookkeeping tasks of an entry level accounting role without payroll, and also their knowledge of taxation rules.

     

    Passing this level highlights that you have the basic required skills for a bookkeeper to work within a public practice.

     

    Having taxation knowledge will increase your chances of obtaining a job within the public practice, however, you also need to have practical knowledge of taxation software.

    Time limit: 120 minutes

    Date & Time: Thursday, 15th March 2018, 5 pm – 7 pm

    Level 2 tests the participants´ ability to work under pressure on a tight timeline, with the support of other resources e.g - internet. You don´t always need to know everything as long as you are able to obtain the information you seek.

     

    This level tests your bookkeeping ability with payroll and inventory, and also your ability to apply taxation knowledge in various case scenarios.

     

    This level requires you to have proper time management, efficient data entry skills, and critical thinking skills.

  • Prizes

    * Prizes are not transferable, and no substitution or cash equivalent of prizes is permitted.

    * All federal, state and local taxes associated with the receipt or use of any prize are solely the responsibility of the winner.
